Located a few kilometers from the village of Monthiers, on the border of the Seine et Marne and Aisne departments, where Serge Mouille chose to live in 1963, our workshop proudly perpetuates his artistic heritage. At Éditions Serge Mouille, each piece of work is meticulously crafted, faithfully handed down from master to disciple in the purest French artisan tradition. Serge Mouille’s black lamps, recognized as design icons since the 1950s, are distinguished by the graphic design of their long arms, which lightly support reflectors with emblematic shapes, articulated by a brass ball-and-socket joint that adds a golden sheen to the whole.
Passing on know-how: heritage and craft techniques
Serge Mouille has developed an exceptional mastery of metalworking. This technical and creative heritage continues to be cultivated in our workshop. Each craftsman is trained to guarantee the quality of manufacture of fixtures bearing the Serge Mouille name.
Our craftsmen apply complex techniques such as shaping aluminum reflectors, brazing and assembling components, as well as the brass ball joint, the emblematic signature of Mouille’s work. This approach guarantees the authenticity and quality of each piece. By following this craft of excellence, we perpetuate the gestures and vision of Serge Mouille, who saw each luminaire as a veritable sculpture: combining beauty with utility and aesthetics with function.

Each creation leaves the workshop numbered and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. This process ensures that our customers receive a unique piece.

Unlike standardized industrial production, our luminaires are the fruit of rigorous, meticulous craftsmanship. Every detail, from the choice of materials to the adjustment of the swivel arms, reflects perfect technical mastery. This artisanal approach pays tribute to the philosophy of Serge Mouille, who always refused to switch to industrial production.
We ensure that each luminaire, whether floor, wall, ceiling or desk lamp, expresses the perfect harmony of form and function so dear to the spirit of 50s design. The apparent simplicity of these luminaires conceals a genuine work of balance and technical precision.
An Independent Family History
Since its creation in 1999 by Gin Mouille and Claude Delpiroux, the company has remained a family affair. Now run by Didier Delpiroux, who works closely with Serge’s heirs, Éditions Serge Mouille embodies the continuity of a commitment to excellence.
Our family roots enable us to remain true to our values and maintain rigorous control over the entire manufacturing process.

The legacy of Claude Delpiroux
“When I say we’re a rare bird, it’s because we’re the only French publisher of a French designer working in the artisanal spirit to which Serge has always been attached, and who had ceased production so as not to become an industrialist”.
In partnership with Serge’s widow, Gin Mouille, Claude Delpiroux sensed early on that the era was ripe for the re-edition of post-war design classics. Under his influence, Editions Serge Mouille® has continued to grow and develop worldwide.
